Is America on a path of Permanent Decline?
Don Feder, former editorial writer, and columnist with the Boston Herald, is the author of the Article “How Nations Fail. Is America on a Path of Permanent Decline?” His thoughtful article reads like an open road into my mind and the minds and beliefs of many others.
He says:” America has moved from a relatively free economy to socialism – which has worked so well nowhere in the world. We’ve gone from a republican government guided by a constitution to a regime of revolving elites. We have less freedom with each passing year. Like a signpost to the coming reign of terror, the cancel culture is everywhere. We’ve traded the American Revolution for the Cultural Revolution.
We can’t defend our borders, history (including monuments to past greatness), or our streets. Our cities have become anarchist playgrounds. We are a nation of dependents, mendicants, and misplaced charity. Homeless veterans camp in the streets while illegal aliens are put up in hotels.”
Slip From Greatness to Obscurity
Feder’s article goes on to discuss how nations slip from greatness to obscurity.
“Fighting endless wars, they can’t or won’t win.
Accumulating massive debt far beyond their ability to repay
Refusing to guard their borders, allowing alien hordes to inundate their nation.
Surrendering control of their cities to mob rule
Allowing indoctrination of the young
Moving from a republican form of government to an oligarchy
Losing national identity
Indulging indolence
Abandoning faith and family – the bulwarks of social order.”
How Can We Stop the Slide into History’s Dustbin?
I believe Mr. Feder hits the nail, smack on the head. His list of failed state’s behaviors reads like a laundry list of our contemporary government’s leadership. What can we do to stop the inexorable slide from world power into history’s dustbin?
First, understand our elected representatives in our state capitals and in Washington DC, really don’t care about anything other than lining their pockets and getting re-elected to keep lining their pockets. Okay, there may be a few notable exceptions. Not enough for them to yank control from those greedy paws holding the reins of government today.
Second, convene the Convention of States to stop government’s overreach, implement term limits, and protect the 2nd Amendment. You can act. You can become a powerful player in saving our nation. Understand the significance of Article V of the US Constitution. Sign the Petition to make the California legislature approve the Convention of States. You can further get involved as a volunteer. There are many, many opportunities for you.
